“ ...Something told The Ol' Mangaretta to get two orders of cornbread with pecan butter for the both of us...and "something" was right. But Mang's getting ahead of herself here. So, The Ol' Mangaretta just visited Fort Lauderdale and ended up choosing the worst hotel ever--"worst" to the point that my friend and I didn't even want to go out one night. Well, let's just order in! I chose Smokey Bones, unaware that it's a chain, because you might know how The Ol' Mangaretta feels about chains: bah. I'm glad I didn't know. Our food arrived, and after a quick sample, that's when I knew two orders of cornbread was the way to go. Perhaps it should have been three! The bread was hot, tender, slightly sweet, and mind bogglingly delicious with the accompanying pecan butter. The chef who thought of this combination should have a Michelin star on that alone. Next came my actual dinner of baby back ribs, potato wedges, and broccoli. Now, Mang is a veg head, and the broccoli didn't disappoint. They even allow you to choose how lightly or well the broccoli is cooked. With the garlic butter, I could have made a meal of that. But I would have missed out on the savory goodness of the thick potato wedges and the tender, moist ribs. Chain or not, Smokey Bones served up the best meal I had in Fort Lauderdale and possibly Florida. Thank you, "something." Was there anything disappointing about my meal? Actually, no. Well, except that the four mini-loaves of cornbread were soon gone. So, five stars for delicious ribs, broccoli, potatoes wedges, and extraordinary cornbread with pecan butter. The cornbread is gone; long live the cornbread! ”
“ My family and I love coming here. The food is always good and the service is always pleasant. ”
“ I have driven past Smokey bones for years. Felt like some ribs so decided to pop in. The waiter was a gem, super jelly and gave great recommendations. We had drinks ribs and dessert but because we were created the food was eaten before the photos . Meat was tender and the honey butter was definitely something to talk about. The child did enjoy his grilled cheese and the kids menu had good options. They do have large TVs where I can watch your sports but I'd definitely go eat there again! ”

“ It has been a while since we have been to Smokey Bones. (See prior review.) But a difficult day at work meant I did not feel like cooking and the lure of B1G1 ribs brought us in on a Wednesday night. The place was practically empty, which was a nice change because when we used to go years ago, it was always too packed. We ordered the ribs special with corn off the cob. Hubby had regular fries and I had sweet potato fries instead of my usual broccoli. We got about 5 ribs each along with the two sides and a big piece of toast. The ribs were moist and not charred and there were a few sauces on the table if we wanted to add more. I asked for my sweet potato fries to be well done, and they were close to perfection, but not quite. My husband's French fries were just right. The corn off the cob (cooked with onions and peppers) was different. I think I would prefer the corn on the cob. Our server (I think she said her name was Kay), was polite and fast and efficient. With tax and tip the meal was about $28 for two. The rib special is $19.99. But I saw a full rack of ribs for $19.99 so not sure what deal we were getting (2 extra sides?). Anyway, it's been a long time since we have left a restaurant full and satisfied and paid less than $30 for two people. They have B1G1 free deals Monday through Thursday. After reading another Yelp review, I think we may be back on a Monday to try the wings. However, I still yearn for that fabulous fish and chips they used to serve. Sigh. ”
